SERO is dead... long live SERO (grandfathered)...

So it sounds like SERO is truly dead, as of 7/10...
In its place, Everything Plus, which is basically SEP with a $10 discount plus 10% increase in minutes...

Get your SERO while you can... Choose your phone wisely...

The launch date is 7/10/08

On this day SERO will be shut down (as we know it now) - and in its place "Simply Everything Plus". This includes what SERO has, plus GPS Navigation.

Everything Plus 500 is going to be $59.99
Everything Plus 1000 is going to be $79.99
Simply Everything for $99.99 will still be an option

The 500 minute plan for thirty dollars and for 1250 plan for fifty dollars will expire on 7/10. Customers on these plans will be grandfathered and remain on the plans, but all new SERO activations will be on the new plans.

Plus unlimited MyFaves, unlimited Hotspot@Home calls, unlimited 9PM N/Ws, unlimited M2M, and 500 CF Mins included on all lines at no extra cost.

Sure you can. You will be gf'ed into your current plan, just don't make any changes to it.

Will the new "Everything Plus" plans require an employee email address? Will they have shared plans?

wonder why Sprint's calling this "Simply Everything Plus" ?

cuz its TLA is also SEP ?

cuz what's really "plus" about it... seems like it is more of a Simply Everything Minus (SEM). I suppose it *does* give you 10% more minutes than SEP... that 50 extra minutes really warrant a "Plus" designation ?

I gather that Sprint is saying that it will be nonplussed when wouldbe SERO customers start leaving...

So I've been waiting for the Treo 800w to switch from my Verizon plan to Sprint/SERO. Based on the information that you've provided, if I got a 700w or Ace or whatever today, it would be possible for me to return that phone for the 800w when it came out (assuming that I was still in my 30 day grace period) and I would still be able to keep the $30/500 min/data plan? I wouldn't be forced to go to one of these rumored new plans?

Also, if you get a phone through SERO, can you switch it w/in the grace period in a bricks-and-mortar store, or do you have to ship it back?

Curious about this myself as far as exchanging for a new phone and keeping plan. But who knows if they will put the same limitations on the new phone or not. According to the 3 ppl I asked about returning they said you can exchange in store and they will switch you over to the same plan your on now.

Wouldn't I be able to reup and still keep my SERO? There seem to be plenty of customers with grandfathered plans out there and I'm sure they're not all going month by month. I sure hope they'll let me upgrade my phone AND still keep SERO. Of course Sprint can insist on a current plan if they want but I don't think that's how it has been till now with grandfathered plans. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

As long as you dont upgrade to the Samsung Instinct, you can keep your old plan no problem.

Yea as you say "till now". I honestly dont think any of us rly know how far Sprint will take this if they will want everyone off anyone with a new phone going to a better plan or not. Tbh I think that will be the case as they dont want overages. With all the phones coming out in the near future will be able to access everything the everything has to offer. Then again it may just be the case of ok we saw apple get away with it lets try it for ourselves and just went with that one phone to basically give ppl a better option at a better price then the iphone.
