LG Rumour "Other IMAP Email" Not working

Has anyone gotten "Other IMAP" or "Other POP" email to work on the Rumour LG Please let me know! I am about to return my LG Rumour phone because I can not get "Other IMAP Email" settings to be able to send emails. I can receive emails fine, but can not send emails and keep getting: "Unable to connect to the server. Please check your connection and try again. (S7122)".

I checked and tested all my IMAP and SMTP settings in MS Outlook and they work fine in Outlook, but not the phone. I called my hosting provider and everything was fine with settings I was entering in setup, so no issues there.

So, I finally called Sprint PCS and after 30 minutes with Level 1 support, they transfer me to "Advanced Support". They reproduced the issue and could not get their phone in their hands to connect to the SMTP Server for outgoing emails. Finally, I swear I am not making this up, Sprint Tech Support recomended I trade-in the Rumour LG phone and buy a Moto Q instead. She said they have very little documentation on the Rumour and most people who buy it don't use it for email (which contradicts what the retail sales rep. told me). I agree with her the documentation on Rumour LG is very poor. On a side note, the User Interface for Email setup is horrible in the fact one can not "edit" their email settings at all! You have to delete the email account and recreate it everytime you want to edit an email connection setting. Wow.

so, I brought the phone into a retail store and they could not diagnose the issue either and told me to call tech support again. Can you say "going in circles"?

I called my hosting provider back to run a trace on the email logs on the server. They said no log entries were being generated when I tried to send the email from the phone. Confirms the initial connection is not taking place.

So, I am at my wits end. Unelss someone can provide me recomendations, I am getting rid of this phone in place of one which has email that actually works. Please help if you can!

I remember reading something about your outgoing server should be your Sprint username and password.

Who is the POP3 email client you are using? Some of the cable guys will not let any device use their outgoing server. You have to use mail.sprint.com as the outgoing server. Try that.
