Brand new centro, TEP?

Hey all I just got my centro a week ago and love it (except for battery life and the mic issues)

Today I noticed 2 light scratchs on the screen, I tried to clean them off but they are still there. I baby this thing. I don't have a screen protector because the flyer in the box told me not too! From reading the forums some people say that the screen protectors actually hurt the "permanent" screen protector..... First off, what are my options, what should I do?

1. Add TEP, get the phone replaced. (Would it get fixed or a refurb, how long would I be without a phone) Does TEP cover screen scratches?

2. Does anything else cover this? Since its under 30 days?

Second, what should I do to prevent this in the future? Are there any screen protectors that are good for the centro that don't hurt the screen, or a
case with a floating screen protector or something? On reading the forums, it seems like the jury was still out...

Unfortunately, TEP does not cover cosmetic damages. They will not do anything for your phone, except to suggest getting a case with a cover to protect it from further damage.

Yeah as some18mybrain stated you're pretty much SOL if it's just cosmetic. I can't understand why they would tell you not to put a screen protector on it. If it is within your 30 you could try and return the phone stating that it scratched if it specifically tells you not to use a screen protector then you might have an argument, but I would say you'll probably going to lose that battle.

Just return it, and get a new one. It's within your 30 days and you shouldn't have a problem with it.

30 day returns have to be in "saleable" condition. If the device is damaged most stores will not return or exchange the device because it is now not in new condition.

It's just like you can't return a phone with which is broken in 2parts because you are under the 30 day policy.

From what I read somewhere, there is a semi-permanent screen protector on there. A Sprint service store can replace it, but it's not user replaceable. I'd do some research online about putting on a user replaceable screen protector. I really can't see why having 2 on there would do much harm, unless it affects the touchscreen functions.
