if you cant follow the step by steps, you shouldn't be updating the ROM on your phone.

Yeah, you'll need more than your MDN.

If you haven't already done so or gotten it figured out, then you just need to call in and have someone walk you through reprogramming your phone. And while you are at that, make sure you write down those numbers you're given.

I'm pretty sure that most of the good step-by-step instructions for doing the whole rom update (I guess that's what you updated) recommended that you have your MSL and MSID handy. (Though the only time that I've needed those are when just doing a refresh from booting directly into the bootloader)

Is MSID and MDN numbers are same?
In step-by-stem guide i wrote my MSID,ESN(Hex) and ESN(Dec) numbers.
But there was no word about MDN numbre!?
What do you think, why my Titan can not make calls?
Or problem in Radio?
I have
D.3.16
R.3.27

Radio and Rom versions are different!
Is this might be my problem?

it has nothing to do with being a PDA or not. usually the MDN and the MSID are the same unless you've ported your number from another carrier, but there are other instances when they can be different as well.

my MDN & MSID have always been the same through several phones, including my current PDA.

It may be the same, but more than likely it is not the same.

What step by step guide where you reading that would tell you to write down your ESN (Hex and Dec) number?!?! You don't need those (well, unless you're using GetSPC to gain access to your MSL - in which case you need the all-capitol HEX ESN to get it).

The MDN is, as you have been told, your ten digit phone number.

Your Radio is good, and your ROM looks good. You can't make calls because (my guess) you had some issue and needed to reflash from just the bootloader - or something happened and your info got erased.

Just call Customer Service (but NOT from that cell phone!) and have them walk you through reprogramming your phone. Make sure you write those numbers down that they give you too! In case you need them for the future.

My MDN and MSID have never been the same. They look similar, though. I've been with Sprint for only about four years or so though.

Many of the older accounts have the same MDN and MSID. Most lines of service these days have a MSID different from the MDN.

the older people with sprint usually have the same mdn/msid.

with number portability going into effect centuries ago(:P), many people dont have matching mdns/msids.

They "look similar" ? I would have thought that if they *are* different, then they would only have perhaps the area code in common and that they would not share the same exchange -- the first 6 digits define the 10000 block of numbers assigned to the carriers and I didn't think that carriers were assigning numbers within their block but with non-matching MDN/MSID's (i.e. a MDN returning to its original carrier should be able to be paired up with its matching MSID), no ? (I suppose I could have this all wrong... I suppose carriers could now be freely giving out whatever MDNs and MSIDs they have on hand...)

We usually learn best by making mistakes. That's half the fun of it.
