Surcharges and any other BS from sprint
Please come and chat with me about anything sprint does that does not seem ethical or legal.
If you would like include your location and what type of plan you are strung to. I am focusing on surcharges that sprint is making us pay so if you could include the break down of charges they are imposing on you that would be great(see below) Here is my issue: Sprint Surcharges $10.08 Sprint Surcharges are rates we choose to collect from you to help defray costs imposed on us. Surcharges are not taxes or amounts we are required to collect from you by law. Surcharges may include: Federal USF, regulatory charges, administrative charges, gross receipts charges, and other charges incurred to recover costs associated with governmental programs. The amounts, and the components used to calculate Surcharge amounts, are subject to change. Federal-Univ Serv Assess Non-LD $2.64 Pennsylvania State-Gross Receipts Recovery $5.54 Administrative Charge $1.50 Regulatory Charge $0.40 -------------- $10.08 Government Fees & Taxes $9.07 Taxes and fees Sprint is required to collect from customers on behalf of the government. Pennsylvania State-911 Taxes $2.00 Pennsylvania State-Sales Tax $7.07 -------------- $9.07 In Pennsylvania..... Please read the description of surcharges above. Has anyone tried arguing that they are not legally allowed to impose these on us they just CHOOSE to. I am going to call them after work tonight and let you know. Before sprint's little post card saying they were changing some surcharges I was getting through taxes and surcharges @ 10.00 now it has almost doubled. Quote me on this there is no way I am paying sprint 10.00 dollars to help them defry costs imposed on them! I am choosing not to pay these surcharges to defray the costs Sprint is trying imposing on me.

When you signed your contract, you agreed to those surcharges. If your charges went up, as stated in the card they sent you, you have 30 days to call and cancel your phone ETF free. There's a whole thread discussing it in the General Discussion forum.
![]() It's also not advised to post the same thing in two different areas.

I don't really see anything that "does not seem ethical or legal". If they changed the terms and conditions without informing you, or without allowing you to cancel, that would be both unethical and illegal: But that's not what's happening here. They're not required by law to collect surcharges, but it doesn't mean that it's illegal to do so. If you don't want to agree to the new terms and conditions, it's a free market out there.
