How To Upload Ringtones From PC To Your Samsung M300

For the URLs below, make sure you change xx to tt. (I wasn't sure about this website policy for posting live links, so I decided not to)

First of all, it looks like Samsung M300 accepts ringtone file format of “.qcp” It may also accept other file formats, but at this point I’ve only tried QCP!

What you will need to do…
1. Trim your mp3 file to your favorite 20 seconds
(You can use mpTrim: hxxp://www.mptrim.com/mpTrim.zip)

2. Convert your mp3 to QCP file format
* Go to: hxxp://media-convert.com/
* Upload your custom ringtone mp3 file (trimmed to your favorite 20 sec)
* Select “Pure Voice File” .qcp as output format
* Check “I accept the terms” & Click “OK”
* Wait a few seconds & you’ll be prompted to select Quality & Noise Filter
(I Selected “Variable Full Rate” & Turned “Noise Filter” ON)
* Few second later, you can download the file to your PC!

3. Get a USB Data Cable for Samsung M300 + USB Driver for WinXP
* You can search EBay for: “USB Data Cable Samsung M300”

4. Attach your phone to your computer usb port via the data cable
(You'll be prompted to find & install driver)

5. Download & Install Samsung CDMA Technologies Driver
(This one below worked for me!)
* hxxp://site.elitextreme.com/drivers/SAMA645.zip

6. Download & Install Bitpim Version 1.0.3.20071116 – Test (or higher)
* hxxp://www.bitpim.org/#download

7. Launch Bitpim (not BitFling)
* Click on “Find Phone” icon (4th icon from right to left)
If it finds your phone Great! If not, use the wizard (see below)
* Go to Edit Settings (icon)
* Click on Phone Wizard
* Select Sprint => Samsung => SPH-M300MEDIA => Next => Finish
* Go to “Media”, Select “Ringers”, Then Click on “Add Ringer” icon
* Browse to where you have your .qcp file, select it and click open
* Then Click on Send “Phone Data” icon (2nd icon from left to right)

Your M300 will restart…

Disconnect your M300 from the Data Cable + Go to My Content + Highlight Your Custom Ringtone + Go to Options + Select Set As + Voice Call!

And You’re Done!

I know this is an old thread, but thanx for the info. I have been trying for about three days to get a ringtone into my phone. This is the first one to work for me.
