Sprint Network Outage

I live in northeast Ohio, and the Sprint network is out over here. As in totally out. No texting, no internet, no calls ...I called Sprint and they said their tower specialists are out there right now working on it and I asked for a timeframe as to when the problem would get resolved. The rep said 4 hours .....this has never happened before, and my whole family is on Sprint and there is a handicapped person at home, we depend on our phones, is this happening anywhere else in the country?

If a major cable was cut, their is practically nothing sprint can do. Do you have a roaming included plan? If so, set the phone to roaming only.

The rep told me that Cleveland has major issues at the moment, it may take longer for you guys up there, in Youngstown we should be good to go by 4, or so she said, I guess we'll wait and see.

It's 3:25 right now, still no service

Still better than numerous outages with T-Mobile within last few months, voice and data outages. And I hope we will have cell phone service tonight and tomorrow in OKC area, they are expecting half inch of ice and a foot of snow.

Yup, mine came back at around 3:45...went out again for a few minutes too, but so far so good. Let's hope something like that never happens again.

Was your phone picking up a Sprint tower at the time of the outage? Or did it just say No Service?

They constructed a new tower behind my house and took an old tower down. When they were switching over to the new tower, there was an outage for a couple hours. The Sprint signal was full strength during that time, but I could not make or receive calls until I switched to ROAM ONLY.

2-3 bars on my phone. but when dialing out, it would hang up immediately after connecting the call. my girl friend said when she called, it just rang like normal and went to voicemail. hopefully it doesnt happen again

I have T-Mobile and do not recall such outages. If it was local to you, perhaps you should explain that.

Exact same situation with mine...phone was getting bars, clock was synced fine...but calls immediately hung up..switching to roam fixed that
