Text Messages still going to old phones
HELP! I am hoping that someone can help me. I recently got a new phone, my second "new" phone since I have had sprint service. I have discovered that my incoming text messages are still being received at my old phones as well as my current phone. I just found out that a very nosey friend took my old phone and has been reading my incoming text messages. Why/how is this happening and what can I do to make sure that my messages are sent to my current phone only? I would appreciate any assistance available! My current phone is an Audiovox ppc6600, previous phone audiovoxx ppc6600, 1st phone (that I remember anyway) toshiba 4050. I didn't see a thread about this, if this information is already listed please point me in that direction!
Thanks!! |

Look in the FAQ. There is a number for Technical Support. Call them direct, explain the problem (be honest, nice & listen to what they have to say) have them open a ticket.
Good luck.

there is no need to open a ticket -- this will happen as the MSID is the same. shut the phone off.
if you want, get the MSL and 0000000000 out the information for MSID and phone number in your old phones. this way this won't happen. |

you can call sprint and they can help you set it up. it's ##MSL (man. service lock), which is what sprint puts on the phone the MSID is how the network identifies the phone if 2 phones have the same thing, notifications will often go to both (or one) of the phones. |

So it sounds like I have to call Sprint to get this resolved? I was hoping to avoid that since it seems that whenever I have to call for their help things get more messed up before they get better. Oh well, it was worth a shot! I guess I will bite the bullet and call sprint.

just get your msl and you can do it yourself its ##MSL then hit the okay button (or ##MSL#) then you can edit your phone settings. |

the only other way is for someone else to activate your old phone with their msid # or keep the old phone off. if your friend keeps looking, take the battery away or hide the phone and battery seperate

Call Sprint and tell them what's going on, and you may even be able to file a police report for this and see if they'll do anything about it.

I already did that. I asked them not 2 allow password changes or account access using the ss# too. I was told that maybe i should contact police but they could make a note on the account but they really couldnt change their processes and it wasnt their job 2 police my account privacy. Every time i have called since they have given me access 2 my account with only the last 4 of ss# and i have voiced my complaint every time 2 no avail
