WinMo How to use Hard and soft pause in PPC 6700

Hi
I have a PPC 6700.Now most of the times I have to make international calls via calling cards and for that I have to type in an array of numbers.Considering that PPC6700 is not punchin friendly, I tried testing if it supports hardpause and soft pause.
I tried "w" for hard pause, that mean wait for the next sequence of numbers and "p" for soft pause, ie, pauses for 2 secs before dialing the next sequence. But both didnt work.AM i missing out something.
Will appreciate someone's help. This can save my life.

soft pause = using a comma. Each comma represents a 2 second pause. You can stack them too for as many seconds as use you need.

Hard pause: use "w" "...the phone doesnt give any indication that its 'w'aiting, but if you push the send button, the next set of digits get sent..."
