Calling all Stream Website hosts!!!! PLEASE READ!

As as said in other posts, we're a community, we should make a website that inclues ALL the streaming stuff in ONE site, instead of making ten thousand websites with everything spread out.
I don't think it matters who the credit goes for, as long as everyone gets a piece of action, right?
We're a community, and we're here to share knowledge and help others.

Here's my proposal:

Make ONE website, with different sections, no registration required, ONLY with streaming URL's.

Overview: type the URL in your phone, visit the homepage.. browse the category of streaming you'd like to access (ie: movies, tv episodes, music videos, radio, podcasts, etc. <ONLY STREAMS>), click on the URL, and listen/view whatever you're intended to.

How would we achieve this? everyone that has a Streaming Website, please post here, give ideas on how to make a website, and if you are FOR it.

PLEASE NOTE, if you do not have a Streaming Website, please do not post here, just so it's easier for the people that want to get it done to read. Later on, if the website goes up, we will probably make a thread for suggestions, commends, and/or requests.

If you want to carry on with this, please post here.

Love,

iSleek.

Well, I don't have a streaming site... but I'm posting here anyway because I can help manage what goes on here. Basically what you want is like one portal you can go to for all your streaming needs, yes? In that case, we could simply create a nice WAP page with links to everything. I'm more than willing to do this. If people want to add/remove their sites, all they have to do is contact me and I'll make the change. I own my servers, so I can pretty much guarantee they never go down.

This way, you're all still in control of your own sites and what's on them. But people can go to one easy page to get to all the streaming sites we've got popping up. I sort of have something like this already; instead of managing the Bookmarks section of my phones' browsers, I have a WAP page I made with all my favorite links right there, all nice and organized. It's little-to-no-effort for me to manage something like this, as long as people send their updates to me in e-mail.

While it would be nice to get the streams all in one location, I just don't think it's feasible. You just can't have more than one person managing a site, especially if these people are pretty much strangers, because you've got too much at risk that way. But then if it's just one person managing and 5 contributing, that's a lot of work for one person and it's a real pain in the butt to get the content around.

*Edit: In addition to that, I don't know where you'd find a place to host all this stuff. Free webspace isn't going to handle a load like that and you're going to be hard-pressed to find someone with a server and decent bandwidth to give away for free; given the risks associated with making a site like this... meh... it's tough. I've got the space and the bandwidth, but I can't take the risk. I'd lose my job.

well i was thinking, since each one of us already has streaming stuff available, that we could only provide the "rtsp" link to put in the "host website".. so that each one of us can actually host the files, that way, we can keep it free for all

edit: then, about hosting content that we don't have YET, well we can arrange that between the hosts.. i wouldn't mind hosting.. but my focus is on movies/cartoons, so we'd have to categorize each one of the hosts, that way, each one can take really good care of their category!!

Yeah I think this is all a very good idea. I kind of do what laurisfer does...I have a wap portion of my site set up the exact same way. I think that a portal type as isleek mentions is a great idea....and if we have tons of sites or links all on that portal...then everyone from the sprintuser community would have one hell of a free type of "sprint tv"...obviously the more sites in the portal...the better it is. The site I wanted to do ....once I get it up...id contribute to this project...hope others do too1!
