What's the catch?

I see thse sites like dadamobile, flycell, etc offering "free" ringtones. The disclaimer has some fees associated with it...so what's the catch on these things? Can you really get free ringtones or are you automatically signed up to their service when you enter in your phone number?

Some members of my family got caught up in this also. Generally, if you scroll down to the bottom of the website you see the "subscription" fees. Flycell is particularly nasty in that the only way to unsubscribe is with your cellphone. I was able to cancel online with some of the others.

The "catch" is always written SOMEWHERE in small print. Legally it has to be. Just read and you'll find out what the catch is.

Best alternative is to make them yourself, for free. We have all sorts of helpful threads and FAQ's on that.
