called to cancel - transferred to Disconnection Dept.

Hi,

In an attempt to get a retention plan, I called CS and said "Im thinking about canceling my plan to find a cheaper carrier" and he said ok let me transfer you to our "Disconnection Department".

I hung up during transfer!

Is that the same as Retention department? I don't really want to be canceled at least not without a retention offer first.

And when is the best day/time to call them? Today is saturday 11:15am

I didnt know. First time retentioner.. hence the point of this thread.

When I get to the disconnection department, what happens then? Do they say "oh so you want to cancel, here's a plan we can offer you to make you stay.......blah blah" ?

How many plans do they offer? just one? take it or leave it?

What you say is the way you are feeling. You are thinking about cancelling service because in your area you can get x amount of minutes for x amount of dollars with company X. Then you ask if they have some plans that are in that range. The trick of this is to ask and be polite ....demanding gets you nothing. If they deny retention plans or quote off the web...say okay let me think about it and politely end the call...If they give you a good plan get it NOW and ask for all the specifics like login id, etc from the rep....then have them note your account the plan they set you up on and read it back to you. GOOD LUCK

$110.00/month

$60 - 800 Anytime - 9pm Unl N/W - Unl PCS Vision - Unl PictureMail - Full Nationwide LD
$20 - Add a phone
$5 - pcs-to-pcs phone 1
$5 - pcs-to-pcs phone 2
$10 - vision phone 2
$10 - picturemail phone 2

Looking to buy 2 RL phones, pay for the RL on both lines, but keep the price about the same by getting some discounts and maybe 7pm nights and maybe free vision on the second line or discouted vision/picmail .

The Deed is done!! And its better than I ever imagined!

$70 - F&F 800 Anytime - Unl LD - Unl N/W - I kept the 9pm tho (would have been $5 more, but I dont need it)
2nd Phone free (shared min)
Free Vision on Both (Already had free vision and picmail on First phone)
Free PCS to PCS on Both
$5 PicMail on 2nd Phone
5% discount off bill.

$75 total * 5% = $71.25 for 2 phones! compared to $110.00.. I AM impressed! Happy to sign up for the 2 year agreement!

I asked him to repeat it like 3 times to me just to make sure he did it. and I asked him for his name.. but forgot to ask for his login id, but i think its ok.

Question. I asked him on the phone and he said that the F&F plan was Nationwide no matter what state I was in, I could call anywhere in the USA. But on the sprint website i think it says only Free & Clear can call anywhere to anywhere. But since he said I could do it, I guess its right? Anyone know?

You mentioned that you wanted to add RL to each line. Is RL included in your new plan or did you decide to skip the RL?

well I dont have RL phones yet. That will be what I upgrade to. After talking with some Sprint employees here, they said i wouldn't be able to get RL included anyway with retention, so with this new plan I will upgrade phones to 2 RL phones and then pay the extra $10 per phone for a total of $95 * 5% = $90.25... still well surpasses my old $110.00 with no RL.

Also, they offered me a 3rd phone to share this plan for only $10 more. I didn't take it cuz I dont really have a need for one. But is that normal? Maybe I should get it for my Grandma.

and my question above was never answered so I'll ask again:

I thought retention plans have 8 pm n/w and I thought there was no codes for FREE vision.

Are you sure that the free vision isn't for the first two months?

Yea.. i had him repeat it many times. I think its because I already had vision Grandfathered on my first phone, so he just spread it across the two.
