Mine seem to be ok. If I cover the ambient sensor, they come on.

I've looked a number of times to see if I'm missing some setting, but to no avail.

Did each of you do the OTA sprint update?

I have not done it, since no issues with SD and waiting for root...

I did the update. Came down as soon as I got the phone switched over. My buttons light up fine.

Mine comes on when screen comes on and it does light up when I plug in the charger, but it does not come on any other time. So some are saying that at night when the room is dark those buttons should light up? I wish mine did that.......

Yes; that's what is happening to my Evo.

When I'm in a dark room; I can see that the bottom row of capacitive buttons are very faintly lit...I can clearly make them out. And when I tilt the phone; I can see light seepage from where the screen meets the row of capacitive buttons. This is NOT how the buttons/phone is intended to work. So in essence; my capacitive buttons are ALWAYS lit up.

The weird thing is; the bottom row of buttons stop being lit as soon as I plug the charger into the EVO to charge the phone. As soon as I take the charger off; they go back to being lit.

Cover the ear piece while you have the screen on, they should light up.
