Another plus...when someone sends a message to multiple people you can see who all it was sent to. Pretty awesome. So when your girfriend is sending you nude pics you can see if she's added anyone else as a reciepient! haha awesome

What did that newly released firmware do for the phone? Was it a GoogleMaps fix or something else?

UGH this 8530 is a POS!!!

Sorry to start another thread, but the "8530 Owners" thread appealed to 8530 owners, I am appealing to the entire Blackberry public...

This phone is certainly a POS.

1) Rasta posted bout his 8530 freezing
2) The battery door is flimsy and does fit snuggly. When locked in, there are gaps on both edges than can be reduced/eliminated when the edges are pushed down. However, they bounce back up when pressure is released

This is where the gaps are on mine:

3) THE FRONT SCREEN IS COMING OFF!!! The front screen is a single piece of clear plastic from the top down to the 4 buttons (2 on either side of the track ball). Right down where the buttons are, the screen is lifting, and I can see in through the gap into the phone! Soon, dirt and dust will be getting in and messing up the phone!

This is where it is lifting on mine and you can see into the phone from this angle!:

UGH I should have gotten a Tour! But that was $100 more...

Sooo...you would be ok with gaps between body panels and the screen lifting on your phone?

Did the original Sprint Curve 8830 do that?

What MsRandall is saying, you may have a defect and should have it replaced with another device if you wish not to deal with the BB. I think thats what MsRandall is saying.

The Sprint 8330 does not do that (I have it). I can't see why you are asking about the Sprint 8330 when you're clearly using a Verizon device, maybe you should be asking a friend who has the Verizon 8330.

Is there an equivalent Verizon forum?

People people calm down!

MsRandall: Your original statement was terse and open to interpretation. The terseness came off as lack of sympathy. Thank you for your clarification. I'm glad we are on the same page

MadGasser and JWhiteh: Yes, that is a Verizon phone because those were the clearest pictures of an 8530 that I could find on line with the pictures being taken at the correct angles. I used them just to show you where the gaps and failure on the phone are.

Don't get caught up in the Verizon label. No matter what the brand, ALL 8530's will have this problem. They physical build quality of an 8330 or 8530 will be the same or very very similar, no matter what the brand.

Update: I went to the Sprint store on 42nd st and 6th ave, and the customer service rep showed me that her 8530's screen was coming off also!

I will take some pics of my actual phone and it's screen lifting. I will make sure you can see the Sprint label on the bottom of the phone...
