Isn't this 'new' Curve supposed to be more of a consumer product anyways? The average consumer doesn't know a thing about what network they're using, it's all the same to them. That being said, as an 8330 owner I consider this 'new' Curve a downgrade, to me. I would much rather get a 9630 than this phone; that's just my opinion.

I agree..no one should settle for rev 0 nowadays....that is soooooo 4-5 years ago...lol

Unless of course you don't get rev a where you live

To all those who are trying to downplay this whole rev 0 versus A thing is just fooling themselves...or they hardly use the data and care less

Going from the 8330 to the 9630 (rev 0 versus rev a) makes a HUGGGEEEEE difference

This kind of reminds me when of the original Instinct came out as Rev A and then the S30 (the Instinct successor) came out as Rev 0... everyone was didn't make any sense at all... I'm with everyone on this... even the entry level SMARTPHONES should be Rev A... but this one is on RIM I believe, not Sprint because Verizon's version is the same.

Not that its the exactly the same thing since the orig curve was not Rev A but you get what I'm saying here its just odd.

a couple of initial thoughts. The cam sucks. Also, seems like leaving wifi on does indeed help data/email at the office with low signal, but is chewing battery life up.Trackpad does take some getting used to, but the phone isn't freezing or hanging as much as my Tour did. So far I like this BB.

Data definitely isn't any BB's strongpoint. I think the Rev A vs. Rev 0 is moot on the BBs anyway since everything passes thru that BIS server. Definitely slows things down.

I tend to disagree

there are so many apps that work better with rev a such as google maps, navigation, sprint tv, etc.

sprint tv is a joke on the rev 0 network

of course when it comes to simple email, rev a or 0 won't make a difference, but it surely makes a difference when viewing large attachments

YAY! Threaded SMS, I have MISSED you so

So far, I'm LOVING this phone. I traded in my tour. Aside from the camera/camcorder function...the WORST phone I've ever had...EVER (freezing, reception, dropped calls,, etc!

I'm loving the trackpad and almost physically jumped for joy at the threaded SMS...AND my Antair Call Screener actually works on this phone!

Several cool things about this phone. 1st you can set the lenghths of vibrates. So you can have short quick buzzes for a phone call and a long buzz for an email etc.

Another awesome thing is when someone sends you a pic mail it automatically shows up in the message. No more web links! True picture mail. Another plus...when someone sends a message to multiple people you can see who all it was sent to. Pretty awesome. So when your girfriend is sending you nude pics you can see if she's added anyone else as a reciepient! haha awesome

1. the buzz can be edited via only 3rd party software on 4.7

2. true picture mail also works with the tour and 8330m...nothing new for the 8530

3. I believe you can only see the other people on recipient list for any MMS sent....but not for SMS...are you saying that SMS also shows this?

The majority of the problems you are referring to are because of the OS, not the phone its self, curveychick.

So far just seen it on MMS. I know on the curve it didn't show who else was a recipient. One REALLY annoying thing i've discovered is it shows their callback number at the bottom of the text thread. It takes up about 1/3 of the screen. How can i turn that off?!?! I dont want to see that. Only complaint so far.

I got it a few days after thanksgiving (and it got progressively worse), so I would think it would have been a current OS. In fact, it WAS b/c I had to confirm it for someone who asked. I kept it for about 3 weeks. I'd never had so many problems with a phone before.

the phone had major hardware issues before..trackball, rippled lcd, etc

but all those issues have been fixed

all that remains is the random freezing, which is OS related, not hardware

hopefully 5.0 will take care of that

You can definitely adjust the number and the length of the vibrate in 4.7... at least on the Tour you can.
