If you change your number

If you change your number, when people call the old number do they get a message that says "the person you are calling is unavailable"?

I'm trying to call my friend and I'm getting that message. I can't imagine she cancelled her contract, but may have changed her number. Just wondering what is going on.

That message could indicate that your friend's number was changed, the network could be busy or something could be up with her/his account.

Changing phone numbers on Sprint can result in problems with accounts/phones. I wouldn't recommend doing so unless you can get a new number that has both the MSID and the phone number as the same number.

I'm pretty sure if a line is disconnected (or if someone switches there number) the message you hear is, "the sprint pcs number you have dialed is temporarily not in service." I know you will hear this message at least for a while because I changed my number once, after doing so I tried calling my old number and thats the message I heard.
