Upgrade or buy at full price

For those with grandfathered vision plans, back in the day we were able to buy a PV handset at full price and do an ESN swap without losing our vision plan (If we chose to use the upgrade rebate, we'd lose our plan). Does this still hold true, because I am going to purchase a new phone tomorrow and want to know if I should use my upgrade rebate or not.

Why not buy one from craigslist or ebay? Lower price than MSRP, and no contract.

But will my GF vision plan stay intact if I buy it outright?

I have swapped many phones over the years including the Mogul recently and I still have my grandfathered vision. They will try to persuade you to change plans, just tell them no thank you.

I pay full price for my phones because I swap so much. I think you have to have a higher vision plan to get the upgrade price.

Great, have you ever used your upgrade rebate when buying a PV phone? I think I am going to buy the v9m at full price, I'm afraid to lose my GF vision by using my upgrade rebate.

Remember, you can order the phone from sprint and call to activate it when it arrives. If the rep informs you that you have to change vision plans, tell them you want to talk to account services about your account as your planning to leave sprint over the new vision plan charges.

You can choose to take the free vision account services can likely get you, or you can return the phone and revert back to your old phone and contract end date.

I just bought the V9M, and have swapped several phones without the question even being brought up. Im going to sell the v9m on ebay now and go back to a smart phone. I have never had any problems with the plans.

I bought the v9m today, and my vision and text got removed. I think it may have been because I had the "RL with Vision" option, and since I dont have a RL phone, they had to remove it

Your assumption is most likely correct. The system that I used to use (forgot what it's called, not p2k or ensemble though) wouldn't let you continue if the phone was not compatible with the plan, most times. Just call them back as if you just found out and request a comparable plan to the one that you once had. Shouldn't be too big of a deal.

Retention offered me $10 PV ans $10 unlim text for my 2 shared lines...I took it...think I did good? It is still $15 more than my free vision and $5 unlim text.

It's better that you got offered something and didn't have to pay full price. Have fun with your new phone!!

I guess I lucked out. I had a vision phone. I wanted a power vision phone. I had the sero 30 dollar plan. Not eligible for a upgrade credit. I email ecare and they said they will give me the credit anyway. I ordered my muziq online. Paid full price. ecare credited my account. The phone cost me forty three dollars. I keep my current plane with all the discounts. He also added a 10 percent loyality discount. Plan is as follows.

30 sero plan
25 percent discount work
10 percent loyality discount
free pics, videos, unlimited text, internet, nigts at 6pm
first incoming minute free

bill without tax $17.50
with tax $22.10

They will try and pressure you into switching, but you CAN keep it, just stand your ground.

Tell them not to change anything, and if they say they can't politely thank them, tell them not to change anything and call again.
