Ok this may seem like a noob question...

The Nexus S 4G will sell for 200 dollars with a 2 year contract. What if I'm already in a two-year contract with Sprint (HTC EVO Shift 4G) and I want to get it? I assume that I could pay full price for the smartphone and get Sprint to switch my line over but I can't find anything but the 200 dollar price tag with a two-year contract. I wouldn't mind having to sign a new two year contract to get the phone but do I have to? I need to keep my same number though, I don't need to add a line. How would it work? Would I pay 200 dollars for it and get Sprint to swap phones? Is there a charge for swapping phones?

You would have to buy it at full price since you are currently on contract. You can still activate it on your current line (swap). Contract should remain the same. You just won't get the 2yr contract price for the new phone. I've done this in the past.

The ad says 199 after 200 instant rebate. Then you gotta figure 150 credit for new or renewing contract. So $550?

When I called in to Sprint to verify the full retail price I was told $499.99

The break down I was given was: $499.99 - $200 instant rebate - $100 mail in rebate = $199.99 2 year cost

Makes sense considering that the Instant Rebate Promotion is ending on the 7th and this phone is released on the 8th.

If it's the way Lembowski said it will cost $299.99 on launch day. We have to hope that they will extend the instant rebate instead of mail in. I really don't want to buy at Best Buy but then again I don't know if I want to wait 8 weeks for my extra $100.

well the Tmobile full price is $549 so I dont see why this one would be any cheaper expecially since it has wimax as well. If anything it will be more and not less then $549
