Is it worth exchanging?

Hi folks,
Is it worth exchanging the Nexus S 4g for another one at the Sprint store or will the problem just be the same? I'm using the speedtest.net app on the Nexus S and on my ITouch 4. So I've been playing around with both devices back to back about 5 ft from my router. My Itouch can reach at the minimum 1500kb/s downloads consistently. The Nexus at best about 900kb/s and mostly in the 300-400 range. The hard reset that I performed as suggested by another user here is what gave me the 900kb/s, now after a couple of tests, it dropped back to the 300-400kb/s range again.

Obviously, the phone's wifi, nevermind the crappy 4g speeds is defective because the Itouch right next to it can download at triple the speeds consistently.

I know there seems to be problems on here and other forums about this but then again, some people are reporting that their phone is fine.

It is possible for the batches of Nexuses to be bad.

I remember back in the days of the EVO when it launched had software, and as well as hardware issues.

Some hacks where used until updates came out, and some units had bad USB ports where the battery won't charge.

My unit I had didn't have the USB port problem, but the software needed help.

For those that can't handle the phone and its shortcomings for now. Should return it and get a different phone.

Being a first adopter of a phone has its joys and pains.

Lastly, the hard reset trick seems to fix one issue of the 3G/4G/WiFi switch overs, but not the connectivity issues in the Baseband module.

So, it is possible you will have to wait for the updates like the rest of us...

I really hate this, I'm moving from the Touch Pro 2 that would crash every day but at least the signal was good. I forgot to mention, I'm also getting a crappy signal too. The only reason I know I missed a text or a call is because I have google voice and it tells me I missed a call. The phone log shows no record of a missed call.

Just came back from the Sprint store, the store display model has the same 4g problem and so did the Store employee's phone. So I decided not to exchange it. Will hold off until day 29 of the return date to see if there is a fix. The employee claims that Sprint knows about the problem and will send out an OTA update. I just said, I'll be back on day 29 if they don't fix it by then.

I also exchanged my holster case cause it had a squeek on the side. At first the employee said it's normal, so I said I would return it then. He opens a new one and low and behold, the new one doesn't have a squeek and is a tight fit.

Get real blockhead, your about as dense as the hoover dam.

I said its Google's issue to fix, not Sprints.

Also, it is not listed as a known issue in Sprint's database. So go ahead and quote your Google forum post where .3% of the complaints on the thread are relevant to the Nexus S 4G.

Or keep pissing and moaning, but Sprint is not going to fix it.
