GV goes over their servers....oh lookit there - voice over IP.

It's getting there via LTE & WiMax which will be the challenge.

I hoped the Nexus S would have an 8mp camera lens like my EVO. And from the EVO 3D leaks, both of its camera lenses are only 5mp as well.
For me, having the quality camera lens is a big factor because there is no need to take a camera with me to events. It zooms, focuses, and even has flash.

Other than the camera feature, I'm thrilled about the specs on the new phones.

There is a lot more to a good camera than a simple number of megapixels. I fully expect the Evo 3D to take better pictures with it's 5mp camera than the Evo can with its 8mp camera.

why cant Sprint put out a decent spec'd phone with a 3.5" screen? 4" is just too bulky for comfortable pocket carry...

Anything less than 4" is worthless for this phone platform.

Sent from my Gingerbread flavored EVO!!!

Maybe when the failures outweigh the acclaims then I'll consider it. Until then they're still in catch up mode

Does ANYONE have any idea if we might be able to use an existing Premier upgrade (that expires end of March) to get this? I am guessing it won't be out this month =( but since they have preorders, would getting a preorder in before April count? Would one be able to buy the $50 gift card, use their upgrade, lock in the pricing, then buy it at the upgrade price even AFTER the premier stuff expires?

Alright so here is a question

I know that Best Buy sells the Tmobile Nexus S off contract for 529.99

Sprint said they will be selling this phone with a $200 contract extension rebate so it will be 199.99

Does this mean this is only $399 without a contract which seems like a steal. ($199 with $200 contract extension rebate)??

Also I have heard from some inside sources that this phone will be released first week of April

Your inside sources didn't know how much it would be without contract?

Exactly what I'm trying to figure out!!

I'm going to have to ask at the sprint store.

Another option is to upgrade before then return and get nexus s assuming within 30 day return policy.

We need a solid release date.

Why would anyone need to take photos in 8mp? Are you making billboards? Mp means nothing to picture quality, only the size of pictures. Camera companies have brainwashed too many people over the years by pumping out more megapixels and bragging about it.

I will say im surprised they are releasing this phone with wimax. Can it be updated to run off of LTE when Sprint switches, or is it a different radio? Theres no Wimax in Metro Detroit and I doubt we will see it in the next year, but LTE is already here. It makes me want to switch to Verizon.

not exactly true. an 8MP pic will get you an 8 x 10 print at 300 ppi.

Let me know if you figure anything out!

The buy/exchange thing would work, good idea. But they hit you with that restocking fee don't they? What if you never activated it though - no activation fee, no restocking maybe?

Once my premier reverts to 22 months I'll be upgrade eligible in October. I'm torn between this Nexus S and waiting until later this year to snag whatever comes out for the holidays. If this isn't much of an upgrade above the Evo I might just wait.

Go Back SprintUsers.com > Devices > Android (Google) Based Phones > Samsung > Nexus S 4G confirmed by Sprint's own website, first 'fully integrated' GV Smartphone.
