I just called Sprint and they clarified some of the questions i had. Apparently with this new deal there are no subsidized phones. You will have to pay full retail price. If you are eligible for an upgrade (discounted new cell phone) after Jan 10, 2014 and decide you want your upgrade they will charge an extra $15 on top of what ever you pay for your framily plan. $40 would be the least you would pay for 20 months with 1gb of data, $50 with 3gb data, $60 with unlimited data. Not to mention say you want an iphone 6 you will have to buy the phone at full retail price. I thought twice before switching my line. The price point is very tempting but not sure if it is the right one for me. Thoughts anyone?

That is true but most people who have signed up for a framily are satisfied with their current phone and those who will still upgrade don't mind. You get to upgrade annually, you are not on contract, you can put down a deposit on a new phone and make monthly payments. You save more money on a monthly basis. Understand many of us were paying about 80-$100.00 per month. So to save monthly is a big change. Ever since sprint changed the way they adjust discounts with the new plan everything had changed anyway. Example I was only saving $3.00 a month on data only. Switching to framily was a good decision for me. I have the 5S and I don't plan on upgrading until I see if next phone is worth it. I like to wait awhile. My phone is in like new condition so I could always sell my current phone and make a new deposit and still purchase the new phone that I want. It's something you wanna think about .....

So I found a way to keep my Sero plan and get a framily plan as well. They told me I could have two separate plans. I also am eligible for an upgrade which she said since it is a different line it would not affect the costs of framily plan. I hope she is correct if so i can get 2 lines of service for 55 as opposed to 1 which is what I currently pay under the Sero premium plan.

I have 4 lines with one HTC one max, one s4, two LG g2, and was paying about $300 a month after switching to the framily plan and keeping my current phones I will be paying $200 that is a savings of $100 for me and I am not paying monthly for any phone payments.

@miamisaint that's cool. Just double check that to make sure no mistakes were made. Always make sure your account is notated as well. 😊

It'll be interesting to see what happens in a year or two, if Sprint will want you to roll into a new plan in order to upgrade through easy pay.

omg so right I went to the sprint corporate store and got totally different info and the sales rep never notated properly all the questions I asked :/ needless to say I was pissed because I drove about 15 miles just to get my plan. They said since I'm under Sero I can't activate another line under my account I now just have to activate a new line in order to get the $25 plan.

Sharing Framily IDs Here

@miamisaint Oh boy!! Count on Sprint to piss you off. I can't honestly say I have gone through my fair share with Sprint and their lack of notating things properly/wrong info and I have gone through the same with AT&T. Sorry you went through all that :-(

yes it's insane how many employees just BS you just to get good ratings on surveys.. What's even more worse is that they don't even honor anything the employees say so I drove there for no reason after I thought I was given correct information :/ I could have switched to framily and not known! Thank god I looked into it. I will have my mom open up a new line and hopefully I can sign up with one of the Ids on here!

You could have signed up over the phone. I know plenty who has signed up over the phone without a problem. You have to be adamant when speaking to these reps because some of them will try to throw you for a loop. Many are so clueless and some don't wanna go the extra mile.

There is no reason for me to upgrade using easy pay when I can sell my current phones and just buy new ones.
