Trying to Port Cingular Number to Sprint Day 3

I have been trying to get local service in Pecos, TX for 2 years. Local numbers are not available yet. (Local numbers should be available soon; the three digit's will be 432-755-????

After two day the Cinuglar Number's voice mail was gone.

Day three, Cinuglar's Number's voice dead (expected) Sprint say's it will take 2-3 day's to resolve the issue. In meantime they have issued a Temporay # (432-978-7958). Cannot call the number locally dialing seven digit's. How Could Cingular or Sprint mess up a number being ported for so long? Any ideas to accelerate the issue?

I am not using the phone now, replying on my Arizona number to rec and make calls on my Treo 650. It is a 6th line of service that I am adding and I want to transfer that number to my master account of 5 line and transfer one of the those 5 lines to the 6th line. That way I can have a local access number.

My friend the same day ported a 432-448-xxxx (Cellular One, Western Wireless) that same day and also ported a Cingular # 432-940-xxxx. Both of those numbers are now ported and work fine. I however remain in limbo!!

happens more often than you would think. not even anything that either company has done either. pardon the popular expression, but **** happens. i do know how you feel, it took my number 3 months to port over from cingular. 6 phones are great, but only 5 can share a plan, the 6th phone will have to be on a plan by itself.
