Family Plan and Evo Question
Hello all, I'm pretty sure I already know the answer to this but I would like to ask anyways...
Okay, well I pay for 2 lines on my sprint account (family plan 59.99$ a month), I'm picking up my HTC evo either this week or the following and I've been informed I need to upgrade to "everything data family plan" which is $129.99 /mo + 10$ /mo 4g charge. Heres my problem this is what I pay now: Line 1: Has zero use for data, texting etc, only uses around 100 minutes a month and doesn't use the old flip phone for anything else. Line 2 (my line): I have +15$ datapack for emails and IM's and +20$ unlimited texting. Which makes my bill come out to about.... $59.99 + $20.00 + $15.00 = 95$ + whatever taxes is around $105ish. So if I upgrade to an EVO I'll have to tack on $44.00 extra a month (includes 4g) just to use it? I basically need to know if theres any sort of loop hole regarding data plans considering if I keep this person on my account will I just end up losing money every month because line 1 will never use a byte of data or even use 1 text message? I'm sorry if this is confusing, thanks for your help. |

Wirelessly posted (Palm Centro: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10_5_7; en-us) AppleWebKit/530.17 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Safari/530.17)
If u want an evo the ed family plans require all lines to have data. Dumb, but the current beast we are battling.

This is Sprint's major flaw in their current plan offerings, families that want only one smartphone. Their is no loop hole, work around, or fix. If you want an EVO you have to go with an ED plan. If you are a new customer or current SERO customer you can go EPRP but you don't fit that category.(ED with a corporate discount is usually cheaper anyways) Do you currently have a discount? If not look around and see if you qualify for one, you likely do. Employers, alumni groups, professional organizations, or even just being a member of a credit union will get you at least 10%.

I'm in the same situation. Currently have 4 lines and only need one with data. I would have to pay an extra $80 per month to get the EVO. YEAH RIGHT! It better make my bed and do my laundry for that price. Not going to happen.

Alright, I spoke to a sprint person you are correct no loop holes.. all I can do in this situation to save money is to change to 2 individual plans on the same account.
I'm going to do everything plan (69.99+10.00) and for the regular phone it with the 450 min talk plan (39.00) which comes out to 119.98$ a month including 4g charge.. vs 139.99. I guess this will work fine, thanks guys
