You get used to the back buttons in a couple hours.

True! I have to give props to LG for making a decision and sticking to it. The back buttons really are a non-issue after a short period of time. Also, knock-on helps ease the transition as you don't really need to make use of the unlock button all that much.

Yeah but now I'm constantly tapping on other phones screens trying to get them to wake. Lol

YES! THIS TIMES 1000! Quite possibly the only drawback. It's so convenient you start trying to do it on your tablets and other people's phones s well.

I've read positive and negative reviews on both the GS3 and the G3 but I haven't read anything negative on this forum about the G3. I've had Samsung phones with Sprint for the last 7 years and I'm ready for a change so I'll get the G3. Thanks for the help.

Anyone else's G3 develop a hairline crack at the bottom casing where the microphone is? I noticed both of ours have this crack and while looking it up on google I found it is a massive problem affecting many phones and all carrier's. manufacturing defect. Wonderful.

Also ever since the Lollipop update my phone has become sluggish and problematic. Apps force close randomly. The Google keyboard becomes slows as a snail at times when I'm trying to type on facebook or hangouts with the keybord rotated the long horizontal way. Wifi connectivity is glitchy. Factory resets have not helped either.

Had similar problems with my G2 as well. No more LG for me. Done.

I've definitely heard of the crack issue but have not experienced it myself.

I have not done the Lollipop update though. I'm rooted and have been planning to do the update that way at some point. To be honest though, I want to factory reset and install Lollipop. Results seem to be much better that way.

Started out being a great phone and ended up being the worst phone. Lollipop really messed it up and factory resets did not help.

'Proxy server connection failed' messages when trying to browse the web. What the hell does that mean? Never happened on previous phones.

I guess I'm a lucky one. No problems with mine so far. I have the lollipop update.

Question To update or not to update

I REALLY like a physical keyboard, have enjoyed my Moto Photon Q, have been eligible for an upgrade for 7 months, decided to pull the trigger this weekend on the G3 when BB had them on sale for $1, which included a $200 BB gift card.

Most of the configuration went without a hitch - until it was time to sync with desktop Outlook. I have been using My Phone Explorer for sometime, had extreme difficulties with debugging mode, wasted time trying to use LG PC Suite, ended up using Local Sync.

The fun began when the phone wanted to install a second update - presumably 5.0. At that point, it refused to connect to the internet - via phone or wifi. After consulting with 2 tiers of Sprint CS, I was instructed to take it back to BB for a replacement.

I reinstalled all of my applications, figured out debugging mode, was able to use My Phone Explorer to sync with Outlook.

Now the dilemma - phone version is currently 4.4.2, update has been downloaded, ready to install. I have a busy couple of days Tuesday and Wednesday at work, then go on vacation for almost a week, would like to have a functioning phone while away.

I'd just decline the update until you have time to deal with it. I never took the update and rooted the phone.

Well I upgraded to the Samsung Galaxy S6. The Lg G3 was a good phone, except my charger port went bad, thank goodness for insurance, replaced the phone. The replacement phone, didn't connect to wifi calling, and the screen kept locking up, and over heat. It was nice knowing you LG G3 but I am back with Samsung.

Good choice with the S6. I have the S6 Edge and running the S6 + Rom. I love the size of the S6 for a summer phone but kind of want the S6+ just for the gold color. lol
