Moto Maker comes to sprint 11/11

http://www.androidcentral.com/sprint...-moto-x-nov-11

Tempting...but my understanding is you can't use 4g and talk at the same time on the X? That would be kind of a bummer for me.

Sprint chat is telling me SERO/employee accounts won't be able to use moto maker until "sometime during the first quarter of 2014". Of course they blame motorola. And of course motorola says it's under sprint's control.

It really "Wood" make the phone comfy in hand !
This should've been in the Moto Maker from the start if they want to sell phones!

I'm curious if anyone has gone the retail store route and gotten a "redemption pin" for use on the moto maker site? I'm wondering if that's a possible workaround for SERO users, since I'm think SERO upgrades can be finagled in corporate stores with some calling around.

Haha, I really doubt Motorola cares even the least little bit what plan you're on with Sprint. That's definitely a Sprint issue. Sprint has always made it hard for employee/SERO plans to upgrade to the newest phones. People usually end up having to wait a little while for them to open that avenue up.

Yeah, I know...just wish they could be more deliberate about the way they handle it. If the limitations are clear, I'll make a decision about whether to stick with it and bear no hard feelings. But it seems like they're almost trying to frustrate people out of their sero plans, and my reaction to that is to just hate sprint and never consider them again if I leave.

Anyway, seems like the retail "Redemption PIN" for moto maker would be the solution for this, since SERO upgrades are allowed in Sprint owned stores per the SERO faq (http://delivery.sprint.com/m/p/nxt/e...ngpluscustomer).

Called my local store, and he confirmed they could do the upgrade. BUT, they don't offer the redemption pin like At&t and Verizon. Natch.

Unfortunately, that's exactly what it is. Hesse has always had an unhealthy preoccupation with ARPU, and they'd rather have you leave than drive down their ARPU by staying on a low-rate plan.

Anyone have any updates on this?
I'd love to use Moto Maker to get a new walnut 32gb on my SERO plan
