Arrow Sprint's Virgin Mobile Appears to Be Killing Unlimited Data..

http://www.dslreports.com/shownews/S...ed-Data-126311

Quote:
As noted yesterday, Sprint reseller Millenicom is telling customers they're no longer able to offer unlimited wireless data service starting October 31. Now Sprint-owned Virgin Mobile also appears to be changing their tune on unlimited. Users in our forums note that Virgin Mobile has made changes to their pricing and that their unlimited WiMax option is going away October 31.

You can check out Virgin Mobile's old pricing here, which offered unlimited data but throttled users at 10 GB. The company's new plans as of November 1 will offer hard caps of 250 MB, 1.5 GB or 6 GB.

Some Virgin Mobile customer service reps are telling customers that unlimited users won't be grandfathered, though the Virgin Mobile FAQ indicates that users won't lose their current plans if they don't make any plan changes. While Sprint is obviously migrating away from the Clearwire network, users note no comparable unlimited LTE equivalents are being offered.

I've confirmed the moves with Virgin Mobile.

"Virgin Mobile customers that are on the 4G WiMax unlimited plan will be grandfathered as noted in our FAQs," the company tells me. "Customers who change to the new plans will not be able to go back to the 4G WiMax unlimited. We have contacted the customer service department to ensure we do not give our customers the wrong information going forward."
