Cannot Mount as USB Mass Storage, ***?!
What the heck were they thinking? As of about a month ago it is illegal to operate a phone screen in Ohio while driving. So if I want to "legally" listen to music, I need to use the USB function of the car stereo. Does anyone know whether HTC's new phones will still connect as USB? I may need to return the Samsung. Mass storage on most android devices ended with honeycomb and above it was replaced by the mtp (media transfer protocol) and ptp (picture transfer protocol) mentioned in your other thread

unfortunately, many (non-PC) devices still only read mass storage. Which was kind of my point re: the car stereo. It will be interesting to see if any attorney's figure this out and try sue them when someone gets in an accident who couldn't connect their phone via USB to the car radio. Don't think they won't try it.

So you can't use your phone for GPS navigation in Ohio?
That makes sense. |

This website has Ohio's newest "Portable Electronic Device" laws, posted about 2 weeks ago. It seems that different cities have different laws & sub-laws concerning using a cellphone in Ohio, but it's mostly about texting while driving for adults & persons under 18.
I could have missed it, but I don't see a SPECIFIC law about using your cellphone as a GPS, except in the user comments. You decide.
