Sprint drops Numeric Page option

A couple weeks ago, a friend told me the option 2 for Numeric Page on my voice mail did not work, and gave a msg about the feature is not available. I called my phone and got the same message.

Three calls to Sprint, two going to Tech Support, gave no answer except to do a 'cold boot' of the device.
...I have a Samsung Galaxy S II

A visit to the Service Center gave the answer... a software upgrade recenly took away the 'numeric page' feature of voice mail. Now all you get is 'voice messages' (which I opt'd not to use, only paging).

For years my v/m message said "I don't use the voice mails here, don't leave one, hit 2 to send a numberic page if want". With the occasional wrong number and at times missed call, folks called the house line and got me.

Sprint has done away with Numeric Paging ?

Could not get an answer if just my model of phone (which would make no sense) or if a move in general. But no notice about a feature being dropped?

Anyone else seeing this, have any facts to share ?

I lost that function when I went from my pre to my EVO. Figured it was an phone thing as it happened when I used an Instinct for a period of time but the option returned with the pre

Have had for years on previous phones. Had for 3-4 months on the Galaxy S II, so it's not the phone, it's gotta be some idiot ploy added in an upgrade.

Besides, voice mail is system based feature not phone based app, so why would they cut half the options in v/m on some phones and not others.

I understand, I thought it had something to do with visual voice as the Instinct and EVO has but the pre didn't.

Phones that use the new voicemail system with Visual Voicemail don't get that option.

I don't think the loss of numeric paging is necessarily related to Visual Voicemail because lines w/o VVM have lost the option.

The paging option is NOT a handset issue whatsoever. To prove this point; when your phone is off, callers will go to Voicemail and they were given an option to page you. This is a Sprint thing not a handset thing.

The numeric paging option is still available. You just have to call voicemail, enter settings and enable it.

I called voice mail and there is no options for it.

I also contacted sprint and they couldn't find a way to fix it

I hope it is a temporary mess

Dial 1 for voicemail, select 3 for personal options then 1 for settings,

I know how to get to voicemail settings
what I am saying is that there is no option for it in the settings

I have 4 options in the voicemail setting and that is it...
which option would be accepting/denying numeric pages?

When I follow those prompts it offers the choice to enable or disable paging.

I also checked on other lines on my account

I am on sero family plan with galaxy s2
