Influx of Text Message Spam

So in the last 3 months I've gotten an influx of txt message spam. Mostly the "You've won a [insert something cool] go to this link. I'd say at least 1 a week now. I keep forwarding them to abuse@messaging.sprintpcs.com, though never receive confirmation. Any idea if there is a way to future report these or do anything else? I have unlimited txt messaging so its more of an annoyance then anything.

Send a text to 9999 to block the number. Just text the word "block" followed by the actual telephone number to 9999

Also, copy the message and forward it to 7726
Sprint will reply and ask for the telephone number of the spammer that sent it to you

I got this a few times over the year - I am not sure from where, but perhaps it may have been bundled with some datamining app with ads/permissions I was trying from google market for android - who knows, but much more cautious nowadays with an adblocker (adaway) on google play and checking through comments, # downloads, graph etc.

Sometimes, spammers are just randomly hitting #'s

Sometimes, you can google search the message and you'll be linked to hundreds of others (usually within the same few days) posting on those public spam listing websites (you can find this by entering a part of the phrase or whole phrase of the text message)

from there, people will post workarounds OR - sometimes sending "STOP" to that # (might take a few) and you will be removed.

Every few months I get a burst of 5 to 10 spam texts and after a day or two they stop
