Don't know if this is in fact the "Infinity" or something else? Specs look to be the same except for screen resolution. Don't know if it will have a metal case or not, but going for $100 less than the current transformer.

It is not the Infinity, its the direct replacement for the original Transformer. Specs are similar to the Prime but the processor is also scaled down to 1 GHZ down from 1.5.

The Infinity is rumored to retail for $599.

I'll have to check, but I thought the Prime had a 1.3 GHz processor? The 300 has the 1.2 GHz. I wonder why the difference?

You are right, my mistake on the 1.5, The Prime is 1.3

Also, I had read the 300 was scaled down to 1 GHz but again you are correct, in Asus site it says 1.2 GHz.

Another difference is that the 300 will bring 16GB storage while the Prime starts at 32 GB.

If the 300 has expandable memory, it still will be an attractive option. I was saving my pennies for the Prime with the expected drop in price when the Infinity came out. Looking forward to checking out the 300 when it debuts.

The Galaxy Tab 10.1 2 is coming out also. (with a screen equal to the Prime)
If you want to mod your tablet- Go with Samsung.
Samsung is always modder friendly !

If you want to stay stock.
Go with an Asus tablet !
You can root and rom the Prime but it`s very tricky!
The Prime is very temperamental.
I have rooted mine but didn`t unlock since it`s very easy
to brick your Prime! Also- Asus will not give you updates if you unlock
the bootloader !

I haven`t had problems with either or-
Although, I read up before making any drastic changes!

I`m speaking all from experience !
I own both !

I still am going to buy the Google tablet made by Asus and
most probably will sell the Galaxy Tab to buy the Galaxy Tab 2 !

Unlocking the Prime is EXTREMELY easy.. you just download the unlocking from Asus run it and that's it... Prime is very friendly to be modded too.

It hasn't been lately with .21

Rooting is the easy part yes!
It's very easy to brick your prime if you don't have
a clue what you are doing! Sometimes even if you do things correctly
things go wrong!
If you use the Asus unlocking tool there is no way to return to stock!

Take a quick look at recent threads on XDA !
You will see the prime is not as Modder friendly as the Galaxy Tab!
You will see I am correct !

Notable differences between the two.

-Slower CPU
-Plastic housing, which should in theory help with GPS and wifi reception issues.
-16GB or memory
-Smaller battery
-No camera flash
-No Super IPS display
-No Gorilla Glass
