Adware?
I keep getting messages on my Moto Photon in the drop down menu that is ads for naughty things, about free iphones and ipads I won etc...
How do I figure out which app I have that has done this? Is there an antivirus app that anyone recommends for removing adware? Thanks! |

Oddly enough it comes up with one other option, "Addons Detector" and the intro for Airpush says that, unless you prefer open source apps, the former is a better product.
I installed it and it finds things but doesn't automatically delete or block them. I have to go in, one by one, and delete them. I would really like to enjoy some apps for their anticipated purpose, but block their hidden adware abilities. |

Still getting Adware messages!
I have deleted what I thought were sources for Adware (apps I didn't load, anything by Google Syncronicity, MSNBC) and I am still getting those unsolicited drop down messages. I get a green "+" symbol followed by a message such as "You have (3) Hot Wallpapers!" or "You won an iPhone 4gs!"
I loaded an adware detection program, and it finds stuff, but nothing runs like an anitvirus program and just deletes stuff or blocks connections. How do I make this stop? |

Sorry guys, I'm good. Downloaded Avast and it took care of the problem (there were a couple of active wallpapers that came down with adware attached). My only question is, how much battery power am I burning keeping avast running, because it doesn't shut off. But, my battery monitor doesn't show it as part of the percentage of battery usage, so I guess I'm OK.
Thanks to all, especially for recommending AVAST. I used it years ago on my DELL because all the viruses, adware, and spyware were punching holes through Norton and McAffee, so I know what good they can do. |
