Kentucky bill may help hang up landline phone service

Off topic but what do you all think about this bill ?

Landline telephone service has become so old-fashioned in today’s wireless world that telecom giant AT&T has called it a relic “of a bygone era.”

A bill pending before the Kentucky General Assembly could hasten the service’s decline.

I don't see this happening. Not requiring a land line company to offer you service as long as you can get cable phone is just removing something called competition.

If the land line company does not want to stay in the business, spin off land line into its own company or sell it to someone who does. Verizon decided to sell off landlines in many states to Frontier, deciding that it no longer wanted to be in the land line business in those states.
