Lost Phone - Looking for New Old School One

So, I lost my Epic 4G touch, or it might have been stolen, but anyway I am looking to stay with Sprint on my contract but just get an old school flip phone.

Now a couple of questions:

What is Sprint's policy if you lost your phone and you have a data plan? Do they let you just go back to a non data plan?

Should I buy the phone from Sprint or should I look for an unlocked phone?

(I am really at a loss on how to find a phone that works with Sprint from another sources so any search tips or websites wold be great.)

A qwerty wold be nice but not really important since I do not text a lot. I just like good call quality and good battery life.

Thanks all!

The important thing is, do you have the Total Equipment Protection plan?

If you do, you can file a lost/stolen claim with Asurion. You wil pay a 100 dollar deductable, and will get back your GS II.

As far as the cheap and easy way out, sprint does sell pre-owned and refurbished devices way cheap. anywhere from free to 49.99 and up. You can find these on Sprint.com.

In the meantime, you definitely want to call in to Sprint and have them add the lost/stolen service code. This will prevent the thief from using the voice and data services you pay for.

Sprint stores probably will not have anything you are looking for, as they will sell the phones on a contract basis, and any of today's devices will run you 300-700 dollars outright.

Hope this helps!

Just checked on the Sprint website, they have a bunch of certified pre-owned phones. Flips, sliders, and candy bars. Prices $49,$79,and one Blackberry Tour for $99.

If you buy one of these it doesn't affect your contract or upgrade rights at all. Buy a $49 flip phone, use it 'till your current contract is fulfilled, then either port out or upgrade.
