5/9/11 Software release 2.201SP (Froyo) Sanyo Zio

Details:
  • Software update to 2.201SP becomes available for the Sanyo Zio (SCP-8600) starting on 5/9/11.
    • The 3-part software update pushes to existing Sprint Sanyo Zio customers over a 5-day period.
  • Customers need to use WiFi if possible to download all 3 portions of the update to get their Sanyo Zio device to Android 2.2 (Froyo).
Updates:
  • 2.2 Android (Froyo) General Android OS speed, memory, and performance optimizations
  • Camera and Gallery updates
  • SWYPE
  • Sprint Zone 2.5
  • Sprint ID
  • Improved battery life
  • Bluetooth enhancements
  • Updated Wallpapers
My recommendation is to download and install the update over WiFi, then hard reset your phone again with the hardware keys. Overkill? Probably. But there are too many issues with these OTA updates and you really should clear the Dalvik cache with the hard reset.

Also, take the time to copy all the crap off your SD card, format it, and only copy back the stuff you really need.
