Phone Upgrade for Family550(SM) Talk Plan
I want to upgrade my phone but sprint is telling me that I have to change my plan to get a newer blackberry like the curve 85xx. They are telling me that the Blackberry Tour (which they no longer carry) is the newest blackberry I can get. Is there any way around this?, or any alternative plans similar to this one that I can get?

This has been asked and answered numerous times. There is no way around plan restrictions. If a device requires an ED plan it cannot be activated in the system without a proper plan. It is hard coded into every system and even if a rep wrongly tried to allow it it will not activate period. The info you were given is 100% correct concerning which BB's are able to be activated on a plan other than an current ED Plan. The Tour was the last BB eligible. This has been this way with every phone that requires ED plans since the Instinct came out in Jun 08
