Oh ok, so if Sprint started to want to charge people an extra $20 for "administrative fees," they're going to try to tell us that it can't be used to void our contracts?
Sneaky, sneaky Sprint!

I have to roam at home but end up leaving my phone on roaming all day, even when I'm at work. I don't need it there though. I generally don't use more than 100 minutes a month (out of 500).

I called CS once to try to discuss any options I have for roaming at home and they said as long as I have roaming on my plan then I don't need to worry about my account getting cancelled.

Am I safe?

Technically, and I repeat, technically, you are violating the terms of the contract.

Realistically, if you're only using 100 minutes a month, you should be fine.

If you only use that much, why not hop on prepaid? Do you use a lot of data or something?

I believe the surcharges thing is overly broad and would be thrown out if it was a new Sprint surcharge. When that was added, I said to Sprint exec services that they could simply choose to add on a $5 per line a month "revenue recovery surcharge" and basically increase plan costs by $5 per line with that broad claim. As expected, they made sure to tell me that I would be released ETF free if anything like that happened.

Hmm...thanks. I just always forget to turn my phone off roaming when I get to work. And then on the occasions that I do turn it off, I forget to turn it back on when I get home and my battery dies. I was thinking about getting the Airave. It's like $5/month right?

I never really thought about going pre-paid. I have SERO so I'm not really inclined to bail on it. I used my phone a lot back before I got married. Now that I'm married, there's no need to spend thousands of m2m minutes talking with my wife haha. I do use a lot of texts though.

If you have zero coverage at home, Sprint may give you an airave for free and waive the $5 charge also

I have ZERO coverage in the immediate vicinity of my home, even though I live in a 'good coverage' area. So, Sprint gave me a free Airave device and a credit for the $4.99 charge...it is worth calling them up to inquire about it...
