It wasn't limited or censored until he broke the rules. He used inappropriate language and was flaming another member. If everyone behaves themselves, nothing will happen. Freedom of speech/expression is not guaranteed. Please try to stay on topic.

actually because this is a private forum freedom of speech can and because we reserve the right to do so will be limited to adhere to our forum rules

If you're going to mount a big anti-board-censorship campaign (you shouldn't), at least wait for a more worthy forum member to back up. The offender here pulled the same childish "I'm getting it but I won't tell you neener-neener" thing on SlickDeals (link). As far as I'm concerned, the mods should have yanked all his posts, never mind tweak 'em.

He's hardly the only one trying to activate a Moment; there's one on SlickDeals in that thread and another one on HoFo. There was also one on mopocket.com, but he never reported back (making me suspect he was told "no").

Again, all this with the disclaimer that my hopes for this are close to zero. It'd be a clerical error if Sprint allowed this to activate on SERO, but we've seen them do stranger things, so I'm allowing myself to dream... kind of like when I buy the occasional lottery ticket...

This should answer most people's questions:

I got the Moment today, and it wouldn't let me activate it unless I upgrade my plan.

Following the instructions in the UPS box, I went to Sprint's website to activate it. Everything worked fine until I got to a page asking me to select a new, compatible plan.

I called Sprint to exchange my phone for an Intrepid, which seems to be the best phone after the TP2 for the price (they would not price match the TP2 to $199...no surprise here). For those who are wondering, the rep said that there's no restocking fee for the Moment as long as the phone isn't activated."
