Tethering?

Just curious to those of you that tether your phone to use a laptop or whatever, has anyone had their service shut off because Sprint noticed an increased amount of usage or anything? Or heard of anyone who has? Thanks.

Note: Please spare me the lectures.

Been using about 1 GB a month since 2006, sometime up to 3-4 GB.

I do not have a tethering plan.

Phones I've used with tethering:
Samsung a800
Samsung a900m
Palm Treo 755p
Instinct
Samsung m520
BB 8830WE
BB 8330 Curve

NEVER HAD A PROBLEM!!!

PEOPLE DO GET CUT OFF BECAUSE OF THIS!!!!

I've just been lucky so far!

They might cut you off, or they could bill you for tethering without a PAM plan.

I'd guess that they look at the amount of data you are accessing and compare it to what your device could realistically do. Accessing p2p file sharing sites would probably raise a red flag, while getting a few emails would probably go unnoticed or not worried about.

I'll bet you will get lectures anyways............

I used my phone to tether on occassion, but I have a PAM plan. I have only seen two people get caught using PAM that weren't supposed to. Sprint just put blocks on there account so there couldn't do it anymore.
