Do the Sabres have a chance?

I'm a big time Sabres fan and I'm getting worried that they won't make the playoffs. At 81 pts (3/22) and 3 points behind the chowder heads (Boston) it is looking tougher & tougher. I always want to see my team get to the playoffs but when managment goes & dumps your top 2 players and you get nothing for them it may serve them right. If the Sabres make the playoffs then managment made the right move which I think was wrong. I think you need to have a "goto" guy on the ice, that one person that can turn a team around with a goal or a good check or something. Look at the Pittsburgh Penguins or should I say the Sidney Crosby team; there one person can change the tide of the game almost a will. Can Vanek do it for the Sabres?

Anyone else out there think like I do?

The new owner is unwilling to negotiate to keep the top talent on the team. I'm actually suprised that they agreed to match the offer on Vanek!

Can they make the playoff's? sure. Will they this year? I doubt it. If they do, it will come down to the last game of the season.

If they manage to make the playoff's, they have just as good a chance as any in the east of winning it all.
