I have 3 total phones on my account. How can i get my name off the 2 phones used by family members.
My son and granddaughter are making calls to their friends and my name is pop-ing up on the reeivers line.
Can the user of sprint make the call unknown??

The caller can dial *67 followed by the phone number. This only works if the receiving party does not have anonymous call rejection.

they were talkin about this on here not to long ago. you can do it by changing the acount name to unknown but you can ever change it back.
theres more to it than that but thats what i think i remember about the topic. why dont you want your kids friends to nkow your name :lol:

Call customer service or go into a sprint store and have authorized user name changed on the two phones

If you want the other phones to show their name so that their friends see their name whan calling all you have to do is call sprint customer service and tell them thats what you want to do. They will fix that on the phone with you and you have to give it about 24 hours to take effect. If you just want to show their first name initial and last name they can do that also. Those are your only two options unless you want all the phones on the account to show private.

Did this on my other lines on my family plan a while back. Just call in and make sure they fully understand that you want the caller ID to display the actual users name or they might end up just changing the displayed ID to be different but still the same on all the lines. They will tell you that it takes 72 hours for the change to take effect.

I have 2 lines as well and both showed my first and last name. I called cs and changed the second line to my brothers first name initial and last name. I blocked mine altogether.

"Yes you can" have the caller id changed to your kids name. and until then, have it blocked from showing anything...

Can this be changed if you have an individual line? IE, my phone is opened under somebody else's name, but I would like to have it show my name. Is this possible?

No, If you have only one line on the acct. you would have to change the name on the acct.

Even if you have a individual account you can have the authorized user name changed and the caller id can say whatever you want it to say as long as its not vulgar.

Actually, they would only change it to your first name and last name or first name initial and the full last name. They said that the last name has to show. I had my 2 lines changed and they insisted that this is their policy. So I just blocked my name and changed the second one to my brothers name.

Then why everytime I called, I was told the same thing... that it's the law to show the last name on the caller ID... they wouldn't let me change it to anything else.

No offense but I did call 3 times and emailed once. I think that is enough for me. I just don't get how the reps can be so inconsistent with their responses.
Since you work for Sprint, maybe you can set us straight here. We had a thread going on about this a few months back and we never really got any straight answer...

I was told that same thing... that it had to be first initial and last name. But apparently, it can be anything that's not profanity... :thought: Thanks

Okay, here's a bit of a "horror story" pertaining to this topic...
We have 3 phones on a single account. I wanted to change the caller ID information to show the actual individual phone owners' names on the caller ID for each line. Sounded simple enough!
*2, and I get ahold of a very friendly rep, but she just didn't speak very good english. This isn't something new for me, and had never had a problem with it in the past. I explained that I wanted the caller ID changed on the account for 2 of the 3 numbers. I gave her the names & numbers I wanted changed, and she did it for me.
Waited 24 hours, and still no change. So, I call back up to customer support, and while attempting to verify the account holders information, we get stuck on who this account belongs to. Well, it had been under my dad's name since 1998, and for some reason, was changed to MY name!!!
I explained to that rep that I wanted the caller ID info changed, and NOT the accout holders name. She said that the caller ID request was detailed in the notes, but to change the account holders name both my dad & I would have to go down to a Sprint store in person and fill out a change of liability request form. Obviously, this was unacceptable since we didn't have to do this in the first place, and the rep did it over the phone purely by accident.....
Well, this new rep insisted that they didn't have the power to change the account holders name, blah blah blah.... Eventually talked to her supervisor, which did no good either. Got the call escalated to tech support, and they fixed it, with no problem, in about 5 minutes. Also gave us a $20 credit for the hastle, and changed out 6PM option to free on all 3 lines for the duration of our contract!!! Now THAT is service!!! :tu:
Sorry for the lengthy rant, but I just though I'd let some people know that even though this is supposed to be a simple & easy process, it can turn into a headache pretty easily, so explain EXACTLY what you want, and as always, hope you get a knowledgeable rep!!! :frustrate
