I have a Sprint phone, want to change to Nextel. I have a 1 yr and a half to go on my contract.
I have bad credit, what are my options?
I gave a $125 deposit for my sprint phone.
Will I have to put a deposit?
Can I keep my number?
Will I have to pay full price for the phone?

I gave a $125 deposit for my sprint phone. You can easily switch to Nextel if you so desire.
Will I have to put a deposit? You shouldn't need to put down a deposit for Nextel, if you're already in good standing with Sprint.
Can I keep my number?Sure can! Usually only takes about 3 hours to go through, but sometimes can take up to a week or more.
Will I have to pay full price for the phone? Most likely, no.

In good standing basically means - bill paid in full, correct?
My current bill is $190. So, I have to pay my bill before switching?

don't think you need to pay before you switch, as long as it's not due yet. good standing=never been late on a payment

Well, that does it for me. I am late a lot. Thanks anyway. I guess I'll have to deal with sprint a while longer. I really wanted a nextel though.
Another question; if I bought a prepaid nextel (boost) could I port my current number? My phone is my only phone (no house phone) and I have that number on all my resumes. Any ideas or suggestions?

As long as you pay the bills and late fees in full, I see no reason why it should hold you up. Call them (or visit a store) and give it a shot. Oh, and porting to boost would result in an ETF.

Wait, you've been on contract only 6 months, you're late "a lot" (in 6 months  ), you've got $190 outstanding (overdue?) and you want to switch to Nextel? I would really be curious why.

it depends. if u call every month getting temp credits. there is a point where somebody just says u have been given enough and we just wont issue any more. if u have been told u can get anymore just have to make payments. i hate people who call in and wanna get mad that their phone is always off but they have never been on time. its rather backwards. but i'm not saying that is what u do.
