When this is done and the phone is tethered, does Sprint bill you a per minute charge to use this as a modem?
Or do you just need to be careful not run up too much bandwidth usage to get noticed?

there are a few threads discussing this...off the top of my head i dont know if you will get charged for sure or not...if you do tether and dont have a PAM plan i would just be very careful that you dont use up alot of bandwidth...

Since Feb you need a PAM plan changes the NAI to username @modem.sprintpcs.com and another thing I don't understand why everyone and their cousin says that sprint can't meter the data plans. Why would they sell different mb plans for the data cards when they couldn't meter.

so, tethering will not work without PAM?

tethering does work without PAM...you will just be charged for the usage at .02 cents/kb if you dont have a PAM plan...i just tethered last week when my internet went out and needed to do some work...

im not sure as it was the beginning of this month and i have the rest of the month until i get the bill...

i read lots of threads on here about tethering with your phone and the only reason i ended up doing it was i knew i wasnt going to be using it alot and i diabling NAI was suppose to stop Sprint from monitoring you but i just used it sparely...

what i should of said before is if your going to use your phone alot to tether you most likely better off geting a PAM plan b/c it would be a heck of alot cheaper than if you were to just be charged .02/kb...

i dont know if this helps you at all but i hope it did...
if not let me know and ill try to explain better...

so you DID diasble the NAI, and then logged on to the network? And you arent sure if you will be billed or not...you're just assuming Sprint will bill you....

yes the NAI was disable (had it disabled since i first found out about it)...then i logged on...im hoping Sprint won't bill me for my usage since it was very miminal...if they do then they do...i dont use my phone to tether...i just did since i needed to be online for that time to get work done...

so im just going with the i hope i didnt use to much bandwidth to get charged...
