Will be moving to DC area around same time for employment which would benefit from using Nextel's PTT.
I can get the Days Inn discount (family connections) @ 18%.
Already getting USAA discount @ 5%.
What should I do?!? I intend to stay with Sprint. Expect I would need no more than 1000AT and would like the goodies like 6NW, FIMF, unlimited text, discounts (DaysInn, Loyalty).. ya know the typical craving for most for my money.
Would like to have the Nextel PTT, too.
Input!!? :frustrate So many darn options...
Your expertise is greatly appreciated.

are you on sprint now? if so then a ReadyLink phone would get you the PTT Feature.
if your on nextel now then SERO would be the way to go...

With your contract up, you can get this plan. I've done it for about 17 people so far.
$40.00
1000 ATM, Nationwide (NOT AN AREA WIDE PLAN)
Free 6pm (if still possible) (if not) FOR SURE 7pm.
Free (if still available) FIMF
Free UNLIMITED Vision W Picture Mail.
Free / $7.50 UNLIMITED TXT MSGS! (Free may not be available now)
Free M2M
Free RL (if people you may talk to are on SPCS, just use the M2M) (if on Nextel, Then Swap providers.)
And then use your discounts.
Once friend I helped was getting a 20% discount, so her bill was about $44 a month after taxes.
I just called for this plan about 3 wks ago, and the rep told me some of the free stuff may be going away. Like 6pm N/W and FIMF. That is why I say ask for em, but don't get mad if not available.
Be firm, but polite. It works just about every time. As always, if the person you talk to is not willing or wanting to help, hang up and call back for another rep.
ALSO! CALL BETWEEN 5PM & 8PM AS THEY ARE THE BUSIEST AND MOST HARRIED, SO MORE WILLING TO HELP TO GET YOU OFF THE LINE!

Orange: Yes, I am on Sprint right now. Minute usage is not much, currently. However, with the move to MD and my new employment (going to Police Academy in July) I will be using the phone much, much more. The Police thing is why I like PTT.
RedGT: I love that plan! I pay the same amount and get about 1/10 the benefits you have there!!! This is really what I am looking for.. to get use out of my monthly cell phone expense. As it stands, it is costing me 50 bucks a month for 10 bucks of good.
Tammy: That plan is very nice. Let me PM you my number. I will keep those plan details in mind as I search for my solution. Thank you!
patrick: That trumps Tammy's plan!!! Free RL and UL Vision an NW @ 6... geesh! That is more along my lines right there.
Thank you to everyone for your responses. I appreciate them very much. Again, I enjoy Sprint (former VZion) and intend to stay with them. Just looking to get more bang for the buck now as I expect my cell usage to jump up considerably.
Sent an e to customer care, not much out of that. Also called *2 a few minutes ago and got a few answers there. Seems like go to store, get new plan (TBD), cash in on my 150 phone rebate. Get that all set in stone, then contact customer care, work out freebies/upgrades. Ja?
Thing is with RL, I am limited to some crap Sprint phones right? Wait, the MM7500 looks ok. I will read its reviews. I like the A900 for size purposes. And RL will allow me to talk to my fellow Nextel'ers, right?

Retention (where you would be getting the crazy good plans from) would probably also beable to hook you up with some kind of discount if not a free RL phone. just something else to think of. if you go to the store for the $150 discount then try to work out free features you may lose out on some things.

OK. I will read up about the Retention FAQs. I do not want to leave Sprint; not too good at lying.
The 7500 actually seems like a nice phone. Lot of features I expect to be using and would like to use.

Wait, so RL wouldn't work with fellow buds using Nextel's PTT?
If that is the case RL, if free would be fine but wouldn't be of much use.
Going with RL or not determines whether I bite for the 7500 or the Blade.

if you only wanted RL so you could talk to PTT then its not going to happen, not yet, and you should just get the a900. lol. and retention is throwing those things away at some people.

Looks like I will shoot for the 900

Also I didn't just want PTT. I want a phone too!
But I wanted to communicate PTT style with folks who have Nextel. Seems like the merge isn't that tight yet (if ever will be) for me to stay Sprint and PTT my Nextel friends.
