Not sure if this is the right spot for this, so if it's wrong please forgive me and move it to the right place.

As for my question, when transfering liability of a phone and contract, can the person taking over the contract keep the plan it is on or do they have to sign up for a completely different plan too?

the plan should remain exactly the same. the "new" party is just agreeing to be liable for the contract on the line(s) being transfered. I cant recall if it requires a new contract or not but I dont think so.

Excellent, I have a sanyo 4920 that I need to transfer liability on, it's on a SERO plan. This should make someone very happy lol =) I just need to get rid of it since it's not being used.

Thanks Dand

Can someone confirm if it requires a new contract or not? I want to transfer from my mom's name to mine, since I just turned 18 and don't have any credit I didn't want to pay a huge security deposit. I want to keep my SERO plan and not have to pay a deposit and put it in my name.

Regardless of if it requires a new contract or not security check is still run on transfer of liability. Hence the liability part.

National Volume Discount,

Basically this is the Corporate discount you get for working for a company.

I would assume I could just e-mail eCare and easily have it added back on though

As long as the plan that they have on their phone is not an ADSUB plan they can keep the plan....If it is they will have to put a new plan on the phone or they will be charged 10 cents for every call they make
