I have a Sanyo VI-2300 and am wondering what cable/hardware I would need to do PAM?

Thanks for the link to the cable! Now, how does it work after that? What are the steps to use PAM. I have the Vision Pack on my plan.

Errmm. Just so we understand each other, PAM (Phone as Modem) is an extra-cost plan add-on. I think it's $50/month for unlimited right now.
So step 1 would be to get the plan added on. PAM already includes Vision for the phone itself so you can subtract the cost you are paying for Vision right now from that $50/month. I think the Vision that is included with PAM is the $15 access pack, the cheapest one.
Step 2 would be to find the drivers for your phone and install them on your PC.
Step 3 would be to...
And Houston we have a problem!!! Forum search turns up http://www.sprintusers.com/forum/showthread.php?t=93881&highlight=sanyo+2300+nai
Might not work, need some more research into this...
bummer! Why would they disable it anyway? So if I did get a phone that would allow DUN, could I do it without the extra PAM add-on service? I read somewhere in here if you stay below 150mb a month they let it go...

No one knows what that magic number is but you're right. I think I've seen 300MB cited the most.
Have you done a forum search for disabling modem NAI? This is what supposedly lets you tether without PAM or additional charges. I know Samsung phones can disable this, PPC6700 doesn't have NAI to begin with. I love my Samsung a900, the a920 is nice too.
