View Full Version : FTP sites using PAM (Phone as modem)

I couldn't find any other thread on this topic, - so am i the only one who is having this problem.

Problem:
I can't seem to get access to FTP portals.
First, i have tried to FTP (upload) website files up to the host server using Dreamweaver or other FTP software and they cannot log on to the servers. They always time out.

Next, from my webbrowser i have tried to FTP files, download, like a driver i needed for my laptop from HP - the browser Times Out trying to access the ftp site. ftp.hp.com

I take it that the FTP ports are being blocked. Is this something other wireless PAM users are experiencing?
Is there a known work-around???

But, you're right, the problem was with the FireWall. I temporarily disabled the Wndows XP firewall and I was able to use FTP. I had tried to allow port 21, but that didn't work. So, any idea what ports to set up?
