Hey everyone, quick question. My blade is enroute and should be here shortly. It is my understanding that when I activate my phone i will get PV free for a month. However I looked at the coverage map and my area isnt covered yet I mean we just got call tones 2 weeks ago.Now my question is will I have to pay for PV if it isnt in my area yet? or do you think I may be able to keep current vision?Lastly sprint gave me 500 free texts will I lose these or should I be able to keep them? Thanks in advance!

In the future, please search as this has been covered numerous times.

You will have to be signed on to a PV plan, but you will not get PV speeds. You will, however, still get the features that come with whatever PV plan you chose.

You can try your luck bargaining with Sprint for discounts or some other compensation, since you're going to be forced to sign up for a plan that isn't necessarily available in your area. Just explain that you had to sign up for PV, but it's not even available in your area so you're paying for something you can't even use. Usually they've given people freebies, discounts, etc. to make up for it. If you get shot down, just try again later with someone else.

The only way you could have avoided this was to do an ESN swap if you're a current customer, but I gather it's too late for that.

The default 500 texts plan is only free for a month and they will keep billing you after. This is one of the things you should be able to get for free for being forced to buy a PV plan in a non-PV area.

I think it is stupid that they charge you for using PV when you are just using regular V. The phone supports both technologies, there is no reason why this shouldn't be possible. Oh well, anything for that extra $5 they can tack on.
