I'm new to this but I have a few songs that I would like to place in my new A920 phone. A media player or a converter program would be nice so as to convert songs into and ext, that this phone would play. Any info would be appriciated since i'm assuming WMA files will not play on this phone.(?, assuming KOZ. does)

I don't think such a thing exists, but your phone can play other types of media such as mp3, m4a, mp4, 3gp, and 3g2 thru the phone's built-in media player. I would just convert your wma to an m4a using dbpoweramp (with m4a and wma codecs, easy to get, just google) and paste those onto your memory card, either in the music folder or media depending on which you would prefer. In the music folder they will play in the music store player along with the files you have downloaded from sprint.

Hope this helps!

KOZ is AAC+. I use MediaCoder (http://mediacoder.sourceforge.net/). its a great free program that lets you convert audio and video into almost any format. Then I convert it to 3GPP AAC+ @ 32kbps. believe me, that sounds pretty good from a phone and the file size is about 1MB per song.

i tried converting multiple mp3s to the AAC+ you mentioned. i keep getting errors. I am able to convert them to mp3 and wav, but AAC+ isn't working. is there something I'm doing wrong? i get an error stating that 1 of 5 things could be wrong.

You have to download mediacoder in order to convert mp3's and wma's to AAC+ files. AAC+ files are equivalent to the files purchased from the sprint music store.

Any more news on the KOZ file format encoder. I had a look at http://www.audiokoz.com but don't know which one to use?

MediaCoder uses other input plugins and by default uses the Mplayer plugin. If you have linux, you probably know what this is, otherwise, you are probably just getting an error and don't know why. First of all, if you are on a winbloze box you need to install winamp so you can use their input plugin. Second go to the audio tab on mediacoder in the bottom left hand corner. The button that says source has a drop down arrow and that will most likely be set to Mplayer change it to Winamp Input Plugins. Also, I had problems getting it to convert to 3GPP AAC+ without poor sampling and skipping, I just encoded it to CT AAC+ and it plays in the media player (i.e. put it in the MEDIA folder). I never tried to get it working in the actual music store section. It wasnt worth the time to figure that out.

I dont really care about having to go thru the stupid music purchase screen to listen to my music since it usually takes a while to connect to it depending on my signal. As for the .koz format it may very well be AAC+ because the file sizes seem to be close. I doubt sprint made it that easy though, there is probably more to it. I am more interested in getting the 3 songs i purchased off of the phone and converted to mp3 than i am about getting .koz files onto my phone, especially since A. Media Converter is free; B. aac+ files play fine in mediaplayer on the phone and are about the same size. C. I can buy the mp3 online for probably 99 cents convert it and put it on the phone instead of the 2.50 sprint charges.
