depends on how you are doing the conversions...this is how I do, but def. not the book when it comes to making m4a ringers...

1st I convert my music file to a 44000khz mono wav file (kinda big)

Then I use nero wave editor (not free) to crop and basically filter out 80% of the bass then amplify the ringer by 6-9db.

Next I convert to m4a with dbpoweramp with a vbr of 200 (also kinda big)

My ringers are playing loud and clear on the 9000. My average ringer is around 300kb. Some of the sites like dbringers or louies have gotten it to an art form...sound about as good as mine but sometimes 1/3 of the size, but the size don't matter to me...this phone's got more memory than I can even use :)

Yea i feel what your saying, the way i made mine was just cutting them and them with mpTrim and converting withdBpowerAMP Music Converter...i guess thats the basic way

well if you could break it down on how to do it more thoroughly or if you could just give me links to the programs like Nero Edit (i can probably find a crack) and etc. i guess i can figure out how to do it...but thx for the help

well i use adobe audition, to cut/edit/manipulate my mp3 file, save it as the same type of mp3. then import it into ImTOO mpeg encoder and convert it straight to .m4a. my m4a setings vary from 24-28 kbps. average ringer 110-210 kb depending on legnth.

now about making them clearer, in adobe audition i usually amplify them past normal ranges (to make em REALLY loud) and if theres too much bass i use the graphic equalizer to edit out some of the bass.

no they dont, you dont have a sanyo. your phone sucks...j/p . they sound fine to me.

plus the volume does not need 2 be ALL the way up, unless you wanna hear it from like 8 rooms over or somethin

well rap/hip-hop is not really my thing, but I d/l'ed one of the kanye west ringers and it just didn't do it for me. personally, I don't like my phone's speaker putting out any bass at all so maybe that's why. at level 16 (where my floyd ringers are screaming at me to answer) all I could hear was my phone's little speaker trying to be a sub...to each their own...I'm def. not a hater.

Just a note that links to those ringtones were deleted because it violates the forum rules. I also deleted the same links you had posted in another thread. Thank you for understanding.
