View Full Version : Newbie to forum with ringtone Questions
New to this forum.
I have a Samsung A920. I am looking for a really LOUD ringtone. I am a little hard of hearing and work in a noisy environment quite a bit. I am a little leary about the sites that offer free ringtones but want you to register. I don't want to get on any junk mial lists.
There is a lot of information here and maybe someone can point me to the right spot.
Questions:
1. Are there any good sites for getting ringtones without the registration hastle?
2. Is there freeware software or relatively cheap software that allows you to make your own ringtomes?
3. Does anyone already have a LOUD ringtone they wouldn't mind sharing with me?
4. Gan I access additional ringtones from the Micro SD card in the phone? Or how do I load additional tones into the phone.
Your help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Welcome to the best place for anything Sprint!
Everyone on this board is pretty helpful and just about anything you need to know can be answered.
I hope this information helps you.
On the A920 use AAC-MP4 not wav. You have the ability to listen to real tones on the A920 use it for all it's worth. Their are easy ways to make tones for your A920. Here is the link on sprint users.

It was put up by Deval. It is very informative and I am sure this will help. As per uploading you can use the data cord or upload by use of the focus uploader here on the site or rumkin or others around.
Also Sammy_Kat wrote this which may be helpful.
ok ... here you go step by step
1. pick your mp3
2. trim your mp3 (the part you want for ring tone) google mp3cutter
3. open the trimmed mp3 in Itunes
4. in Itunes convert it to acc
5. go to this link and send new acc to your phone

6. enjoy your mp3 ringtone
It is easy to use Quicktime Pro to do your conversion, easier than many others. Most software is free... Quicktime Pro is not, but go to ebay and you can get the reg. code for about $2. It is worth it. Use the link above to get everything else you need.
Again if you have questions or need help making these files just holler. :music:

1. I would go to www.craiggiven.com. There is also a site www.**********.com, but it requires registration to enter. I would be more than happy to create a username for you.
2. Go do a google search using the word "MIDImaker". MIDImaker is a program that allows you to create custom MIDI ringers. I use it almost all the time. It is shareware for $20 but has a great trial time.
3. Unfortunatley, I don't have in my possession any loud ringer, but if you search the forums, I'm sure you could find one, or at least a link to one :) .
4. I don't know anything about MicroSD cards, sorry to say. However, if you want to load additional tones into the phone, use a phone uploader!
Happy Hunting!
